Theory of Acupuncture

Acupuncture is under the guidance of TCM theory, with a certain angle piercing the needle into patient's body, with specific techniques to stimulate specific parts of the human body to treat diseases.


Body piercing point called acupoints, referred to as points. According to the latest statistics of acupuncture textbooks, our body has a total of 361 serious points.

Notes

Acupuncture treatment is safe, but patients should be aware that under some circumstances. Acupuncture is not recommended.

  • Patients with fatigue and hunger should be avoiding acupuncture. Older people should take lying position, appropriate points
  • Pregnant women, abdomen and lumbar areas should be avoided. So do some special points like Hegu, Sanyinjiao, Kunlun, Zhiyin, etc.
  • Children are generally difficult to cooperate with, so a needle is not recommended.
  • Patients with hemorrhagic disease or often spontaneous bleeding, are not easy to stop bleeding after injury. They should avoid acupuncture unless it is necessary.
  • Skin infections, ulcers, scar, and tumour areas are not suitable for acupuncture.
  • Eye area, chest and kidney areas should be avoided if possible.
  • Acupuncture has a great effect for some diseases, however, it should be used according to the situation. A comprehensive treatment, is more advantageous to the patient, this also can give full play to the role of acupuncture and moxibustion.
